Go To Team's DP Tom Wells and crew traveled to Pigeon Forge, TN for ABC News this week to cover the first 'Zorb' park in the U.S. A Zorb is basically a big inflatable hampster ball for humans. Crawl inside, strap in, and hang on as someone pushes you down the side of a mountain in this 12 foot tall, 200 pound monster! Tom engineered pencil cams, dv clamshell, waterproof wireless mics, and our splash housing for the fun shots. The story aired on Good Morning America, World News, and World News Now. What does Zorb mean anyway?

Hey man, I tried these things this weekend in Amesbury, Mass.
I was cruisn up 495, and I saw a HUGE banner for ZorbNewEngland, and these CRAZY balls going down the hills with people inside!
I hadn't hear of them before.
I stopped in, and this is what I learned, not I can tell you..
ZorbNewEngland is a company that claims to be the American flagship in the sport because, and I quote:
-We provide the newest, fast growing, low impact, high excitement sport in the world.
-The excitement has taken over as a national pastime in countries such as Japan, New Zealand, England, and Sweden. It’s a major tourist attraction in its native country of New Zealand and is growing across the globe……What are we waiting for?
-Since its release in 1996, it has grown by leaps and bounds, no pun intended….That should come as no surprise since just imagining seeing a giant hamster ball roll by bearing a fun loving rider at 30 mph should be enough to enlighten the spirits of any skeptic and leave the most cynic anxious to strap in and feel the sensation.
-a “zorb ball” is a gigantic inflatable sphere standing around 10-13 feet high, which embraces an inner sphere about 6-8 feet high that is suspended by about a thousand nylon strands. The two chambers are linked by an entry/exit port hole
-The center sphere acts as a cockpit for the thrill seeking enthusiasts willing to take on that which is the hypershere.
-The center also bears the palette for “slip-and-slide” like core of those looking for a fun alternative with all the fun without the vertigo by braving the hydrosphere
-The rider rolls down a hill, around grooved landscapes, over water, or off jumps all encased in an inflated chamber separated from the outer ball by a cushion of air 2-3 feet between core and outer ball.
-Then there is GLADIATOR BALL which allows the rider to play a wide assortment of games against friends without being strapped in at all. Walk around inside the ball to become a life size bowling ball, cue ball, soccer ball, water-walker, run the maze, or just push your way though obstacles to reach your goal
Being that this activity is found around the world, and is grossly looked upon as an amazingly fun time, to the degree of becoming a tourist attraction, we believe that the next step in its evolution is here.
We want to own the ideas that will be the next step in this perpetually increasingly popular pastime, and have it originate in our very own USA. By taking an already revered sport, and creating a hybrid version, multiplied by many new and ingenuitive gaming ideas to equal a paramount industry starting here in New England and spreading across the states at its own will.
With the help of our local athletic facilities and other suitable venues, we plan to put up a new idea for the American people. Much like bungee jumping, carnival rides, skiing, or even rowing, we want to create an option for every-day people to enjoy a new past time.
It is not a guess that this product will do well in our demographic, many years of research has been put into the creation of this product, and by looking at the response around the world….I guess you could say “field tests” have gone well.
Somewhere down the line, our goal is to open the largest arena in the world, with options at every angle, from rolling down hills, to full 8 on 8 soccer games. We are continuing to take down new ideas, and start on the research and development every day.
First and foremost, we would like to recognize the craze the product has become globally, and optimize symbiotic relationships with very select land owners, such as your selves, to create a “buzz” and give to our neighborhood an opportunity to enjoy this new craze.
Then we can concentrate on really starting a market for this great product that is sure to bring millions of smiles to our customers faces as it bring millions of dollars to our annual income.
